The Complete Persepolis takes its audience on an uncommon expedition through the life of Marjane Satrapi as a graphic memoir. This account as a graphic memoir allows the reader to see the events in Satrapi’s life from her limited perspective. Illustrations showcase tragic events and losses throughout her coming of age. The artwork as well as Satrapi’s own personal account allow the reader to understand what is taking place in the mind of the author. However, the memoir showcases a flaw in her rhetoric. Essential events in her life, were recounted from a child’s perspective. Children are in a learning phase, where anything said can be questioned and also believed. Satrapi
