Parental involvement is vital to the athlete and the participation of the child is also beneficial to the parent. Participation in whichever sport the child choose, can be essential to the overall growth process during a child’s development. Although, parental support is considered essential, their involvement may often send the wrong message. Parents experience empathy in that they perceive sharing the emotions their children felt in sport and these emotions appeared to change in relation to dynamic game and contextual circumstances (Holt, 2007). Partaking in organized sports at a young age should be the child’s decision, and the parents actions should be made with the best intentions for the child to learn not for the parent to conjure up
