One example of this is the film called “Paris is Burning”. Paris Is Burning represents the everyday life story of gay men who are living in Harlem that come together for one act of self-fulfillment. By selecting related interviews and putting them together between actual shots of competitions, Jennie Livingston shows and connects the struggles and hardships that hold gay Harlem together as one.
