Organic farming is a wholesome production by reducing the use of fertilizers, pesticides and producing healthier products for sustaining agricultural sector without any impacts on the environment and health (Singh, 2014). Organic farming is the oldest form of farming in world before highly advanced machineries and technologies came into existence. Organic farming is a healthier way of producing agricultural products which have lot of benefit to the consumers. Not only that it does not pollute the environment and damage the soil as compared to the Conventional farming. Bhutanese farms are small and located in isolated areas. Most of the production of agricultural crops in Bhutan are organic from the very beginning as the farmers were not accessible to the developing farming technologies and ideas. Organic agriculture is not a traditional way of agriculture but it is a farming using scientific knowledge and requires understanding of agro-ecological processes (Ghimiray, 2008). Therefore the lack of access to the knowledge is the major disadvantage to the farmers who practices organic farming but not knowing on how to tackle with challenges. Organic farming is a producing system which is a mixture of traditional, innovations and science to sustain the health of soils, ecosystems and human being (Dorji, 2015). Organic farming has potential in Bhutan. As compared to the other countries, Bhutan is capable of being 100% organic since the farmers are not much familiar with the chemicals and still uses their old way of farming which is the organic farming. Agriculture in Bhutan is increasing with more development in small scale production and large scale production. Organic states In Bhutan 3 out of 20 states are organically identified. Thus organic farming in Bhutan, in the future will be more developed with the accessibility to the technologies and ideas which will also increase their productivity than before. Since majority of the Bhutanese farmers are small holder family with few heads of cattle’s or goat. Even though the farm are small, farmers grow 4-13 different crops. These small little contribution will lead to fulfilling the self suffiency. Thus it is clear that organic farming in Bhutan will be more sustainable and reliable form of farming with taking it account of the benefits it provide. The country’s goal to achieve 100%
