Becoming a Stronger Person Life right beneath your feet. Encountering obstacles at every given moment. This was an adventure that Christopher encountered. In Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon, Christopher a young boy is trying to solve a mystery of who killed Wellington, the dog. When he solves the mystery he decides to run away, it is not safe. Christopher is placed in many tricky situations where he needs to use a different form of thinking one he rarely uses, his intuition. As he suffers from Asperger syndrome he’s used to logical thinking supported by facts. Having to guess where to go is frightening to him. He wanders around the streets hoping to find London. Christopher soon realizes that his surroundings are really different than what he is used too. He discovers that the only way he can get to London is by socializing. A dreaded word, a word he detests. He practically classifies everyone as a stranger, including neighbors. Crowded places and noises cross his path as well. He was lost his surroundings only suggested for him to socialize, so he can get directions. Christopher has mentioned various times that he does not like strangers because they are hard to understand and he can not read someone's emotions. (Chapter 67) Christopher's inability to socialize really posses the question of whether he will be able to make it to London. Somehow Christopher gets the courage to talk to a lady who has two children. The lady gives him directions towards the train station. After he talks to her he does not feel as bad as he thought. Somewhat sick but not dying sick. This shows a significant growth to his abilities to interact. Also gives insight on how difficult this was for him the fear he overcame just to prove he could do something when he is determined.
