In the book Number the Stars the main character is Annemarie Johnson. She experiences the lies and truth, and the relationship with the in her life. She also is on a unique journey from girlhood to womanhood.
The lies effected Annemarie were used for good things. She was lied to about her great-aunt Bertie that she never had. Her great-aunt Bertie was never actually alive.
