Have you ever been interested in an all-electric vehicle? If so, look no further than the Nissan Leaf. The Nissan Leaf was introduced in December of 2010 as an all-electric vehicle. This is the first electric vehicle that was available for purchase in all states. I think that The Nissan Leaf is the best all-electric vehicle manufactured because the Leaf is an environmentally friendly vehicle and it is considered a zero emission vehicle. Because of its electric drive train, the Leaf requires very little maintenance besides an occasional tire rotation. The Leaf is a compact car that is very affordable as well. The Leaf only runs off of electricity so there is no option to put any type of fossil fuel into the vehicle. The Leaf has a standard 12-volt battery that most cars come with, that allows you to use your headlights, radio, windshield wipers, climate control fan, etc. The traction battery is the cool part; It Is 396-volts when fully charged, and 288-volts when depleted (which they actually call turtle mode!). A typical Leaf is priced between $29,000 and $35,000. This may seem excessive, but current tax incentives can greatly reduce this price. For instance, a typical Leaf owner in the state of Georgia was eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit and a $5,000 state tax credit reducing the original purchase price by $12,500! You do of course have to make a payment every month on the vehicle, but based upon average fuel consumption for non-electric vehicles you are saving roughly $150-$200 per month in fuel, which is also excellent for college
