Job Description A Neonatal Nurse practitioner is a type of nurse who works with newborns that are pre-mature, or are born with an illness that can be life threatening. These nurses work with the newborns from the moment they born until the moment they are stable on their own. Since these babies are so fragile the work environments are very clean sanitized. Even though these type of nurse’s focus mainly on the babies they also work hand in hand with the families of these infants. They provide support to the families in this time of need and they make sure to keep the families updated on anything that goes on with the baby’s health whether it be good or bad. Nurses also have an opportunity to teach new nurses, study with research work. They can also get involved in consulting, quality assurance, marketing, and health planning and development. In the next few years there is going to be a huge growth within this job. This job is going to require a lot of growth because things like fertility treatments are making it possible for families to have babies. This factor is causing many new hospitals to be opened and because of this the employment is likely to rise by more than 20%.
