Iggy Azalea was born in Sydney on the 7th of June 1990. Her family moved to Mullumbimby, New South Wales when she was still a baby. Mullumbimby has only around 3,000 people. Iggy Azalea started rapping when she was 14. When she first started rapping she started a group with 2 other girls form her neighbourhood and then later left them to become a solo artist. She said she left the band because they weren’t taking it seriously. Iggy Azalea has said that one of the big influences she had was when she was a kid her dad made her look at art and she found it inspiring and influential. She was always attracted to America from when she was 11 because her grandparents took her on a trip starting in LA. Iggy Azalea dropped out of high school because she had a goal/dream to go to America, she raised money by cleaning hotel rooms with her mum. She was also very influenced by Tupac.

Iggy Azalea has worked with the following people T.I., Rita Ora, MØ, Watch the Duck, B.o.B, Mike Posner, Sean Paul, Ariana Grande, Mavado, A. R. Rahman, Jennifer Lopez, Charli XCX and Jennifer Hudson. Iggy Azalea was the second music artist to simultaneously rank 1 and 2 on the top 100 chart, with her songs Problem and Fancy. In 2012, Iggy was the first ever woman to get on the XXL's Freshman List.
