Mohammed Sabiri, who goes by the name Sami, is a 15 year old American born Muslim teen who attends a private boy’s school full of privileged white kids, in Upstate New York post 9/11. Being raised by ultra conservative parents along with being Muslim, he has always had the struggle to fit in. From being chased down on his bike with cars and getting beaten up in the bathroom, Sami faces bulling on a regular basis. Although to his father Arman Sabiri a research director at a medical lab in Rochester, the presence of his son at a private school is a sense of pride to him. Luckily Sami is able to obtain two neighbourhood friends (Andy and Marty), therefore life is not as miserable. Just like any average teenager Sami crosses swords with his father.
