Kate Zernike in her article, “Unsafe Behind the Wheel”, published by New York Times Upfront Magazine, questions, is restricting young teens on the road effective or hazardous? First, there are those who believe it is not appropriate for restrictions because it lessens the practice time of young drivers (Zernike 6). A topic brought up by the “AMA” proposes if teens do not have enough practice on the road, and in real life situations they will be more inclined to cause an accident because of their lack of experience (Zernike 6). However as much as teenagers need freedom they also need rules and restrictions for their own safety. Most teenagers overestimate their abilities as drivers and tend to be overly confident with their multitasking skills
