Ballet is said to of came from from the italian renaissance courts from the 15th century. Later it became a concert type of dance in Russia and France. Many of the ballet techniques are seen in other forms of dance. Ballet originated from the Italian courts of the fifteenth and sixteenth century and later spread throughout the French court of Catherine de' Medici. Under Louis the XIV, ballet was said to be created. In 1661, he created the first royal dance academy known as the Académie Royale de Danse. In 1671, another dance academy known as the Paris Opera Ballet was created. This reflected the origin of the French based vocabulary seen throughout ballet. Early ballets began to create what's known as the proscenium stage and it was performed in large chambers with the audience seated on tiers or galleries on three sides of the dance floor. Ballet sadly began to decline in France during 1830 but it continued throughout Europe. it was reintroduced before the first world war due to Russian ballet companies who are credited for spreading ballet throughout the world. In the early 20th century, ballet began to influence concert dance throughout europe. For instance, in the US, choreographer George Balanchine developed something called neoclassical ballet. Variations are due to locations in which it came from. there are three types that particularly stand out. There is Russian ballet, French ballet, and Italian ballet. Romantic ballet (ballet blanc) is the most known throughout the world. This type of ballet focuses girls with a small and tall frame on pointe in small white tutus following precise movements to convey grace and beauty to the audience.
