Mauritius, officially the Republic of Mauritius, is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean approximately 2,000 kilometres off the southeast coast off the African continent east of Madagascar. Mauritius is a current member of the Commonwealth of Nations, and African Union. Your breath will be taken away by the Mauritian scenery and vibrant aquatic life. The environment is tropical along the coasts, and forests/rainforests cover the mountainous regions. Mauritius is a multiethnic, multicultural, and multireligious nation, however, the infusion of French culture makes experiences all the more spectacular and unique.
