MU-COM is devoted to training physicians to serve communities in midwestern United States, especially in the state of Indiana. Although a small percentage of the Midwest population is comprised of Asians, patient care should especially address minority groups and underserved populations. As a Bay Area resident, I embrace the languages and cultures that define our communities. I continue to preserve my native culture, Chinese, as well as my community’s, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Hispanic/Latino, in order to adapt to the evolving patient care seen in my community.
