Everyone goes through relationships at some point in their lifetime. Whether it be with friends, siblings, parents, or significant others. Over time, these relationships can either grow or come to an end, but by learning the fundamentals of how to have a healthy, long-lasting relationship, it is possible to increase the amount of relationships you have throughout your life. Qualities such as loyalty, honesty, and forgiveness can be good traits that can make relationships last a lifetime. Literature shows many examples of Loyalty in successful relationships. One good example is that of J.R.R. Tolkien's characters, Frodo and Sam, in "The Lord of the Rings". Frodo is going through a difficult journey in which many think that he will fail. He was told that he must go on this journey alone, but that didn't stop his loyal companion Sam. Sam was with Frodo, all throughout his journey. Even when Frodo sent Sam away after being persuaded by Gollum that Sam wanted the Ring for himself, Sam followed Frodo from a distance and ended up helping him finish his quest. Because of Sam's loyalty, Frodo and Sam formed a bond that would last for the rest of their lives. Their story is a great example of how loyalty is an important quality to have for a long-lasting relationship.…show more content…
It is inevitable for someone to make a mistake, so if one cannot forgive mistakes, then the relationship will most likely come to an end.
