Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous love stories of all time. The story is also very well known for Romeo and Juliet’s love at first sight. When Juliet’s father throws a party, Romeo sneaks in and he sees Juliet for the first time. When Romeo sees her, he immediately forgets about his previous “true love” Rosalind and starts talking about how beautiful Juliet is and how he has to be with her. “Oh she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night...Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night” (1.5 42-50). REO Speedwagon’s song “Can’t Fight This Feeling” relates to Romeo's thoughts about Juliet when it says that the person singing can’t live without the person they love. “And even as i wander I’m keeping you in sight. You’re a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter’s night. And I’m getting closer than I ever thought I might” (REO Speedwagon). When Romeo sneaks onto Juliet’s balcony, she tells him to leave so he won’t be killed. But Romeo tells her that he doesn’t want to leave until she promises that she loves him. Romeo asks, “O, wilt thou leave me so unsatisfied?” Juliet says, “What satisfaction canst thou have tonight?” Romeo replies, “Th’ exchange of thy love’s faithful vow for mine” (2.2 125-127). Before Romeo leaves, they promise to get married the next day. In the song “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses, the singer relates to Romeo when he says, “If we could take the time to lay it on the line.
