Loneliness it gets us all but i think the worst type of loneliness is when you lose somebody that you care for, In the book Of Mice and Men by John Stien there are three characters Candy, Curley's Wife, and Crooks all three are very lonely people. I believe that the characters in Of Mice and Men show that loneliness is a problem that must overcome in order to live a happy, fulfilled life. My First character is Candy a old man with only one hand and a pet dog. The first example is ‘’ I wish somebody shoot me if i got that old” pg 45. Candy says this after his dog gets shot because it is too old he is very sad about the situation, thinking about it he would want to be dead instead of having no friends. My 2nd example is when Candy says “ I got no relatives or nothing” pg 66 he says this after he joins in on the deal of getting a little farm and settling down, since he has no relatives he feels he could give all his money to george. This shows how much Candy just wants to be with people that respect him and don't treat him like trash. The 3rd example is when they were convincing Candy to let the dog get shot he says “ I've had him since he was a pup” pg 45 Candy says this to the guys to say no because that dog is Candys only friend and without him candy would be so empty sad…show more content…

When George and Lennie first enter the ranch “she put her hands behind her back and leaned so she was in the door” Pg 36 right after Lennie and George got there she wanted to meet them. My final example is when she simply says “i get lonely” pg 87 it tells you something when a character tries to tell other characters that she is
