Kelly Slater is a professional surfer born in Florida. There are many social, economical, and cultural influences in his lifetime achievements. He is the #1 known surfer in the world. He has taken 11 championship titles for ASP, including the fact that 5 of them which had been consecutive from 1994-1998. When he won winning his 5th world title in 1997, he passed Mark Richards to become the most successful champion in the history of the sport. He is the youngest (20) and oldest (39) to win the title. Kelly has a total of 54 victories within his whole surfing career, he was born on February 11th of 1972. His career has just recently ended as that is what he stated. He has left the stage with the rest of the surfing community fighting to get up to his level as he sits back and relaxes on his life.…show more content…
