In her essay “Inside the Mindset” (2012), Carol Dweck contrast fixed and growth mindsets. Fixed mindset comes from the belief that your qualities are carved in stone. You will always have a necessity of proving yourself over and over. They believe that their intelligence and talent are simple traits, and they note their intelligence and talent instead of growing them. Fixed mindsets also think that their talent creates success, but they are wrong. A growth mindset comes from the belief that your basic qualities are things you can cultivate. They are the ones that develop most of their basic abilities through dedication and hard work. They have the mindset of never giving up and a passion of working.
