Informative Briefing Analysis

As I watched my presentation of my informative briefing I was so nervous that it made my presentation sour. When I first started speaking, I sounded very confident about what I was about to present. My voice was loud and it grabbed my audience’s attention. My examples and opening was to the point and specific. My PowerPoint was bright and intriguing and my visuals were clear and concise. Most importantly my information was accurate and interesting. Unfortunately, I had many flaws in my presentation. This was due to the built up pressure in my head to do well. I noticed that I looked down at my note cards too much and my transitions were confusing. I did not read all of my notecards because I thought that I was running out of time. When in reality I did not spend enough time presenting my information. To the audience it seemed like I was ill prepared, but what they didn’t know is that I had been preparing and practicing for this moment for 4 days straight. I believe that my largest issue was taking my time explaining each slide. If I had taken my time explaining my topic than I would have at least met my…show more content…
The next time I do a presentation I will be sure to watch my informative briefing presentation to remind of what not to do. Also, next time I will visit the Oral Communications Center instead of just practicing and timing myself in front of my friends. By having a more professional opinion I might be able to focus on specific issues in my presentation and continuously work on them until I preform at the best of my ability. I also know not to make last minute changes to my presentation so that I won’t mess up days of practicing. Next time I plan to communicate with my professor if I have any questions about my presentation. If I have another opportunity to watch other presenters present their projects, I will take notes and incorporate all of the positive notes into my
