In a society where it is expected to conform to the masses, maintaining individuality can be a difficult task but it is essential for your life. Not following the social norms is frowned upon by elderly people, but for teenagers it is a way of expressing how different they are from the rest. Whilst today's education system encourages individuality and expression of opinion, the education system of the 40s and 50s put a firm emphasis on discipline and uniformity. The younger generation, which has acquired a different set of values, rebels against the older generation, since they do not want society to tell them how they should behave. Therefore, the question is: should we conform to the masses or express our individuality? In today's world
