Guatemala’s population 14,918,999 and Guatemala is 0.77 times smaller than Illinois, but Guatemala has more population.(CIA World Factbook).Guatemala already has many bad connotations on itself. “Widespread corruption, violence… are some of the largest issues that the government faces,” (Culturegrams). Guatemala’s government uses impunity, because they believe they are free of punishment. History shows that Guatemala’s government has been corrupt in the past and in recent years as well, which is caused by violence, military rule, and government impunity, and there is yet no way to resolve it.
