“I am Nujood, Age 10 and divorces” is a book written by a French writer called Delphine Minoui. She moved to Iraq to report for a French Newspaper. When Delphine was in Iraq she wrote an article about how barve Nujood is, later someone called Michel Lafon, a French publishing house, contacted Minoui about turning a long article she'd written about Nujood for Le Figaro in June 2008 into a book. Together, Minoui and Nujood wrote "I am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced." Published in France in January 2009. The book was written so that it would both raise awareness about child brides and also help her in her future; most of the royalties from the book are saved for her. Later in the story Nujood’s other sister and her brother in law (Mona’s husband) disappear and Nujood’s dad decided that he will marry her to a man called Fayez who is twice her age. Nujood like many girls like her has no choice or a vote or even a saying on whether she wants to marry or not so eventually she married him this man and moved with him back in the village. Nujood’s husband did not only abuse her and beaten her up, he also raped her. After a while in this pain Nujood decided to speak up, get help, and get a divorce.
