Imagine that you were strolling through the streets and out of the blue you get shot. This is exactly what happened to John F. Kennedy. JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. He was shot twice in his own car (history.com). Hours after he was assassinated Lee Oswald was arrested for the murder. The murder of John F. Kennedy was unjust just because he was a great president, a very popular, important, person; however, few people think his assassination was justified. John F. Kennedy is, debatable, the greatest president ever. As president his goal was to get America moving again (whitehouse.gov). One of his most famous sayings was “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.” This quote inspired Americans to help out the nation rather than themselves. JFK also sought out to end communism which was another addition to his great, but short presidency. Kennedy also had his eye on restoring the original mission of the United States which was basic human rights for all (whitehouse.gov). This made him a great president in the eyes of many. Kennedy was extremely popular all over the nation. He was the first true president that the whole nation loved. For example, “he was the first superstar chief executive…” (bbc.com). Before JFK was elected president he had a background in public relations. This made him very appealing to the US population. He was also helped out by the broadcasting of all his political debates between Richard Nixon. People were able to see him and connect with JFK over the television. After John F. Kennedy was assassinated, the whole United States was in depression. This proved that JFK was loved by the whole nation.
