At the end of the seven years’ war the Americans were in a great economic situation and were very wealthy, and then suddenly the British government decided to tax them. The Americans did not like that decision because Britain did not have any connection with America at that moment. The taxation without representation became the reason America started their independence from the English. America did not wanted to be part of the British and they wanted to be an independent country, with new laws that protected people and not laws that abused people. America started as a pure democracy but change had to be made for the growth of the country. Independence from Britain was just the first step of creating the country people spired it to be. The creation of a new government and agreement between the colonies was part of the process the colonists had to take in order to create a great country. Americans did not like the way Britain ruled, so they decided to create a new system that would allow them to be free. Americans based their government on freedom. The national purpose of the American government was to let the people be free, and then laws were made in order to keep the colonies united. In The Federalist paper number 51 “In a single republic, all the power surrendered by the people is submitted to the administration of a single government; and the usurpations are guarded against by a division of the government into distinct and separate departments.” Each state had their own government, but the nation was united by a powerful federal government selected by the
