Even though racism does still happen today, it is not as pronounced as it used to be. Back in 1968, I feel that Jane Elliot did a wonderful thing and helped the situation, because there was an epidemic of racism in the 1960’s. She took ordinary children in Iowa and made them realize that discrimination can happen anywhere and to anyone. She accomplished this by making them feel how evil discrimination actually is and she changed their lives forever. She changed their thinking in two short days and it stayed with them for the rest of their lives. She had such an impact on them that when they had children they taught them to not be racist.
