Hans Holbein the Younger was born between October 7, 1497 in Augsburg, and died November 29, 1543 of Bubonic plague, type of fever humans had back then. Holbein was a German artist and printmaker who was best known for many portraits and woodwork and was known for one of the finest portraitists in the early modern period. He worked in Basel and London in his later years where there is a painting there called Georg Giese, brother of Tiedemann Giese, that stays in London.
