For my paper I picked to write on Hank Aaron. I chose to write about Hank Aaron because I love the sport of baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was little and my parents and I always watch baseball on television and watch in live. Hank Henry Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama February 5, 1934. The part of town he was born in was called "Down by the Bay." Where he was born was basically a poor black area of the town. Right after he was born his family moved to Toulminville, where he lived for the rest of his childhood years. While Aaron was growing up his father was a boilermaker. Hank was one of five children. He had two brothers and two sisters. While growing up Aarons family lived a block away from carver recreation park. Hank and his brothers played many sports, including sand-lot baseball. He was considered the best player on the team and could hit the ball many different ways. While playing for that school he broke one of the hitting rules. The rule was that you were not allowed to hit with your hands crossed. Since could not hit ball with hands crossed it took away a lot of his power. Even though he had to change way he hit, he still managed to hit over .700. Before the age of fifteen he was playing with a semi-pro team, playing the position of short stop. In 1952, he dropped out of high school and started playing for the Indianapolis Clowns, a team in Negro American League. After a stay as their shortstop, he was sold in June for $10,000 to the Braves. In 1953 he signed with a team out of Florida and played in the South Atlantic League. In the winter of 1953 he moved to Puerto Rico and played for one of their winter leagues. While playing he learned to play in the
