When thinking about grading and philosophies there are two options teachers can choose, they can either be MAC or YAC. A YAC teacher believes grades reflect on the student, and there should be competition among student. A YAC teacher believes only a few students can receive an A. A MAC teacher believes grades reflect on the teacher, and grades promote collaboration among students. Both philosophies can be beneficial for students when it comes to grading and both philosophies will provide students with different environments in school.
