Over the course of the past 400 years there have been many adaptations of Shakespeare’s works in film, books, and even other plays loosely based off of the Bard’s work. I the recent past there have been three film adaptations that have been “directly” based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, including She’s the Man, Just one of the Guys, and Motocrossed. Although all three of these movies are loosely based on Twelfth Night and stray considerably away from the originally story they keep the theme of women taking matters into their own hands in order to have a better future. The prominence of gender roles in Twelfth Night causes problems from the start not only mentally and emotionally, but also physically. In both She’s the Man and Motocrossed,
