I strongly agree with Gatto’s idea of how all the schools are institutionalized. For example, in Japan school barely assigned homework or tests but to expect us to pass the final exams that end of every term. Furthermore, I think not only a public school but also private school in Japan is broken. Private school system in Japan is, once you get into middle school, students are most likely guarantee to go to same name college without passing admission examinations. Also, Japanese colleges are harder to get in but it’s much easier to graduate unlike in the United States. However I disagree with Gatto’s idea of making school even stricter and more effective.
