As I am reading this story, I predict that the kids will not get to meet Boo. One key reason that the kids will not meet Boo is because he is locked. Not many people have ever seen Boo before. Both Scout and Jem have never seen him before in their lives. Scout told us “People said he existed” (Lee 10). That means there are rumors and doubts about if he even exists. Also, that means just a few people have actually seen him and know that he exists. Scout, Jem, and Dill also mentioned how they would like to see what Boo looks like, because they have never seen him in person. Also, it said, “The doors of the Radley house were closed on weekdays as well as Sundays, and Mr. Radley’s boy was not seen again for fifteen years.” (Lee 13). This suggests…show more content…
The Radleys kept their windows and doors closed all the time. They also had no screen doors. This would not be the first time Boo got himself locked up. After Boo stabbed his parents with a scissors he was going to be put in an asylum, but instead they locked him up in the courthouse basement. Boo was later moved back into his house. Jem thought, “Mr. Radley kept him chained to the bed.” (Lee 14). Another reason that the kids are not going to meet Boo is because the kids are scared of Boo. They kids often talk about Boo as if he is some sort of monster. It said, “Inside the house lived a malevolent phantom.” (Lee 10). They also think Boo has some sort of dark power that allows him to make azaleas freeze when he breathes. They think that Boo eats raw squirrels and cats, and he is full of blood and scars. Also everyone is hesitant and worried whenever they are near the Radley house. Scout mentioned Dill when she said “but drew him no nearer than the light-pole on the corner, a safe distance from the Radley gate.” (Lee 10). This shows that Dill does not feel safe near the house, and he is hesitant to get closer. It mentioned “A Negro would not pass the Radley house at night” (Lee
