Explain How Much Of Concentrated Acid Do Instead Of Diluted Acid

Though the student working in the lab was supposed to add a piece of Zinc to dilute hydrochloric acid (hydrogen chloride), something that would normally produce zinc (I) chloride and hydrogen gas, the student accidentally uses a bottle of concentrated acid. By doing this, the student affected the rate of the chemical reaction and caused a shift. The formula being used would be 2HCl + 2Zn —> 2ZnCl + 1H2(g). This shows a single displacement, this is when one element trades places with another element in a compound. So, the question we know face is what would concentrated acid do instead of diluted acid? Well the difference between the two would be that concentrated solutions have a lot of solute dissolved into the solvent. A diluted solution has a smaller amount of the solute. For a common example, tea. Strong tea would be considered a concentrated solution while weak tea would be considered a diluted solution. Also, notice that when you leave a tea bag in for a longer period of time, the final product reaction goes faster. This is why the speed of the equation would increase. Also, notice that when you leave a tea bag in for a longer period of time, the final product reaction goes faster. This is why the speed of the equation would increase. There is a higher acid in the concentration so the reaction is faster as well- there’s more acid in the acid itself and the more particles create more collisions and constant movement creating the faster reaction. The student simply added more stuff so stuff was made faster
