“Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also a prison,” and “if the injustice (of the government’s laws) requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine (to the government’s unjust laws).” In a world where justice is not served, people stand up and fight for it. The law itself sometimes does not give justice where it’s due. This is when the law is broken. The Antigone was right to disobey Creon’s unjust law to not bury Polyneices. She had strong beliefs behind her actions and she stayed true to them. Antigone believed that God’s law was above man’s law, she believed that everyone deserves honor dead or alive and she understood that dying doing the right thing is better than living know that you could have done something. Polyneices did not get a funeral that was honorable and that was a reason Antigone broke the law. Everyone deserved honor, dead or alive. Creon’s law took that honor away from Polyneices and Antigone wanted to honor Polyneices by giving him a proper burial. The only way give Polyneices a tribute was to break the law. “Nevertheless, there are honors due to all the dead.”(pg211) Creon tell Antigone that Polyneices was a traitor and he did not deserve an honorable burial. Antigone disagrees and says that all the dead deserves honor no matter what happened during their life. Creon had no right to say who deserved honor or not, he was not god. Everyone deserves honor, dead or alive, this truth that was rooted in Antigone drove her to disobey Creon. “It will not be the worst of deaths –death without honor.” Antigone dying honoring Polyneices was a better death than him dying without honor.
