The teenage pregnancy rate in South Africa is flaming and it is gaining more and more fuel each year. It is both interesting and shocking to know that girls of such a tender age engage in underage sex. According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, a crisis is any event that is, or is expected to lead to, an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an individual, group, community, or whole society. Teenage pregnancy does not only effect the individual or just the community but the whole society. Teenage pregnancy rates has become just as much of a social crisis in South Africa as the rates of crime and violence, unemployment, lack of education and the transmission of the HI Virus. It is difficult to comprehend why most girls would not take the necessary actions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, especially if the teenagers are poverty stricken.
