Facts: Research has shown the prevalence of malnourishment in children is highest in South Asia, particularly in India and Bangladesh - Nearly double that of sub-Saharan Africa Despite the 50% increase in GDP since 1991, more than one third of the world's malnourished children live in India. Of those malnourished children under 3, more than half are underweight. It is linked to half of all child deaths and nearly a quarter of cases of disease. Malnourished children tend not to reach their potential, physically or mentally.
