Henry Beston, a naturalist, once wrote that animals “are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.” Animal activists from around the world have been trying to end animal cruelty in the circus, SeaWorld, and dog shows for years. While others argue that this is what animals were bred to do, entertain. Animals should not be used and mistreated for human entertainment. Dog shows, circuses and SeaWorld have been mistreating and exploiting defenseless animals for as long as they have been around. They say that these animals are only doing what they were born to do, and they are not suffering in anyway. Some argue that places like SeaWorld are vital since they education people about the animals and they also save many of the animals lives. An animal expert, Jack Hanna, said that the animals are safer in the zoos and other places since their habitats are actually a dangerous place. They are fighting drought, wars and poaching in the true habitats of these animals. In reality these places are taking these animals away from their homes and families to be locked up in a man made habitats. These animals are not meant to be caged up, used for human interest. This causes the animals to become stressed which lowers their heath. Even if their habitats in the wild are dangerous, they still have lived there for thousands of years and their species have survived without human help. Humans believe they are helping them but in reality, they do not need our help since they are survived thousands of years there without us. They are also arguing that circus are not mistreating animals anymore. They admit they were mistreated in the past, but they deny that they are still being mistreated.
