Nowadays everybody have their own smartphones not only teenagers and adults, children that still in elementary school also have their own smartphones. In this era of globalization, having smartphones is one of requirement to live. Cellular companies also have offered a higher data speed and more affordable mobile device plan for students. Thus, teenagers or even children able to adopt technology earlier but they are not mature to set the time limit for using it. Hence, teenagers have higher chance of getting addiction to smartphones (Lin, 2014). It is okay for them to have it because smartphones have many benefits such as we can contact with people that far away from us, can search information through it, send information to friend via smartphones and others benefits but the problem is when they are too addicted to smartphones. Even though smartphones have benefits but if too addicted, it will give a lot of problems to the user. Someone who addicted to smartphones they will feel lonelier and also can reduce their productivity whether in studying or in doing their work. All of us have a role to prevent smartphones addiction from become more serious and psychiatrists are urging medical authorities to recognize it as a disorder. According to Tan Hwee Sim, a consultant psychiatrist at the Resilienz Mind Clinic, Singapore, “smartphones addiction as a disorder is not even listed in our latest psychiatric manual” (Tan,2014).
