In The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald, there are many dynamic and round characters that add to the story's themes. One character, Daisy, is made essential to the story by her conflicts and character. An essential part of the plot, her character and different sides to her personality are the cause for many struggles especially being Nick’s cousin and the object of Gatsby’s love.
Early in the book, she is portrayed as sweet and innocent because of her white and seemingly floating dress, which appeals to Nick. Daisy looks in the beginning as an angel on earth however it later reveals her fakeness and corrupt inner self. Daisy rediscovers her love with Gatsby because of his nice shirts and large house because she has been brought up in a rich family thus her priority being wealth.…show more content… The fact that it was left unresolved between them, as other conflicts came into her life and intertwined it became complicated. Another conflicts that later evolved is her love affair with Gatsby due to her apparent sweetness and innocence allowed Gatsby to fall in love with her. Her impatience and ignorance of true love or the meaning of truth or compassion allowed her to marry Tom, without a thought of Gatsby.
