Rocky and Adrian are both disrespected by many people. For example, Adrian’s brother, Paulie, is always calling her a loser. For Thanksgiving, Paulie arranged a date for Rocky without telling her. When they got to Paulie’s house, Adrian was surprised to see Rocky and quickly retreated to her room. This angered Paulie and caused him to start yelling at and insulting Adrian, saying that she’s good-for-nothing and that she wasted her life. He also takes the turkey that Adrian was cooking for the two of them and throws it out the door. An example of Rocky being disrespected is in the opening scene of the movie.
