David Berkowitz Childhood: • Berkowitz was born June 1st, 1953 • Nathan and Pearl Berkowitz were his adopted parents • Even though his parents loved him, he grew up feeling rejected, because he is adopted • Growing up Berkowitz was anti-social, because of his appearance, and size • As a teenager he displayed aggressive behavior, and bullied kids Death of his Mother: • Berkowitzs mother died of breast cancer, and this made him more mentally unstable • He started failing in school, and spent most of his time alone • In 1971 his father re-married • His stepmom and him did not get along • The couple moved to Florida without Berkowitz His time in the Army: • When David turned 18 he joined the army • He was a proficient sharpshooter • At the time Berkowitz was still a virgin •…show more content…
Lauria died instantly, and Valenti survived • October 23, 1976 – Carl Denaro and Rosemary Keenan were shot sitting in Denaro car. Both survived • November 26, 1976 – Donna DeMasi and Joanne Lomino were shot, when they were walking back from a movie. DeMasi survived, but Lomino was paralyzed for life • January 30, 1977 - Christine Freund and John Diel were shot in a parked car. Freund died, and Diel survived the attack • March 8, 1977 - Virginia Voskerichian was shot and killed while walking home from class • April 17, 1977 - Valentina Suriani and Alexander Esau, were both shot twice, and died • June 26, 1977 – Judy Placido and Sal Lupu were shot when leaving the disco. Both of them survived • July 31, 1977 – Bobby Violante and Stacy Moskowitz were shot in a parked car. Moskowitz died from a gunshot in her head, and Violante lost vision in one eye, and partial vison in the other eye
