Can you imagine life, if there’s no colors and no feelings? In the book The Giver by Lois Lowry, the people in their community don’t have any feelings and they cannot see any colors except for black and white. They don’t care about anything or anyone. One of the main differences in their community is that they can’t do whatever they want because they are controlled by the Elders and they need to follow everything. They don’t have the freedom to make choices. The main difference between their world of The Giver and our world of The Giver and our world is the word “release”. In the world of The Giver they have rules that people needs to follow and if they don’t follow the rules and misbehave themselves they will get strikes, and when they have three strikes in all they will be release. Also when a birth mother give birth for twins, Jonas’s dad need to release the underweight baby and give the heavier baby to his/her birth mother. Lastly, about the elders, they release them when it’s their time. In their world, the word “release” means killing people for no reason.…show more content…
Also when our mothers give birth for twins, the doctor won’t release/kill the underweight baby or what we called premature baby. Doctor will just put them in the incubator to help him/her grow and make them more healthy. When the baby is healthy enough and can breath on their own without anything on them, doctors will let their mothers to take them home and live normally. Lastly our elders, in our world they won’t release/kill elders, instead they will send them into a home-care, so CNA or nurses can take care of them for them to live longer, because they respect
