Victimized families are going through stages of grief and want comfort during their weak times. Words are the most powerful ways to give comfort. “Having the ability to say ‘I am sorry’ is just as powerful as saying ‘I Love You’” this is because the emotion is strong in both (Gittings). It is a tough time for the family and power words can give them all hope they can have. During their time, it is beneficial to show them that you care and that you are their for them.
