Themes are central ideas in the story. There are numerous themes found throughout The Crucible. Weakness, courage, and truth are three that stood out in The Crucible. Those three concepts that are showed in the characters in the play had an impact on the outcome of events and affected the play dramatically. In the Crucible, weakness is showed in a lot of characters. One example could be in Mary Warren. In scene 3, John Proctor convinced her to tell the truth about what actually happened, and to testify against Abigail. She showed weakness in court because she got scared that no one was believing her, and the girls were putting all the blame back on her. The events afterward could’ve been changed dramatically if Mary Warren would’ve stayed
