Chevy vs. Ford: Battle of the South One of the biggest debates among men in the South is trucks and which brand is the best: Ford, Dodge, or Chevy. In this paper I will compare the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500 based on their affordability, ratings, and features. I will discuss which truck is more affordable based on retail prices, their ratings based on US News Best Cars, and their features that come standard in the trucks. The first topic covered is the affordability of the two trucks. When it comes to affordability, the Silverado is smack dab in the middle of the F-150 pricing. The Silverado costs anywhere from $26,277 to $47,656 on average, while the F-150 comes in around $25,628 to $52,284. Concerning gas mileage, the Chevy Silverado barely gets more miles per gallon than the Ford F-150 with 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. The Ford F-150 falls just short of the Silverado with just 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
