“Always get drunk” is a poem written by Charles Baudelaire. Baudelaire suggests his readers to get drunk on whatever they want, and wants his readers to change the way they think. We live a world where people only care about working for money and power as opposed to doing what they love. People want money and power to compete with the people around them. Veblen presents a viewpoint that people do not want to keep up with the Joneses but to surpass them. Baudelaire suggests that everyone should get drunk on something that makes them happy, and this type of mindset is positive liberating and healthy.
