Canadian Economy Vs Panem Economy Analysis

339 Words2 Pages
One difference between the Canadian economy and the Panem economy is that the Panem economy is a command economic system. In this type of economy, the government is the one deciding about the products or goods to be produced, how to produce them, and how to distribute them. In Panem, the distribution of wealth and resources is determined by the Capitol. Therefore managing the flow of goods of each District leads to the growth of their control over each of the Districts. In addition, this results into starvation among the people. Canada’s economy differs from the Panem economy because it is a mixed market economy where one part of the entire economy is being run and controlled by the country’s government while the other half is left to free
