Timeline 1330’s: A mysterious disease outbreak appears in Central Asia. This is significant to the black death because some think this was the start of the plague or a version of the plague. Historians have not been able to finalize that this in fact was the Black Death but studies show that it probably was. 1331: The first documented outbreak of the Black Death was located in China, more specifically, the Yuan Empire. This is where the first outbreak occurred which is an important part of history. It was the spark that started the fire. Since it was documented we can track the spread of the plague. 1335: Just four years after its first major outbreak in China, the plague began to sweep through the Middle East. This is significant because it is another documented spread of the plague which makes the black death a larger pandemic. 1347: Plague ridden bodies are launched into cities by the Mongol army. Specifically they sent bodies into the city of Caffa. Traders in Caffa then traveled to Italy, causing some of the first outbreaks in Europe. 1347: The Black Death reaches Alexandria, Egypt. When the plague reached this distance people in the rest of the uninfected world started to realize how easily the plague could spread. 1347: Plague ridden bodies are launched into cities by the Mongol army. Specifically they sent bodies into the city of Caffa. Traders in Caffa then traveled to Italy, causing some of the first outbreaks in Europe. 1348: England starts to suffer from plague in September of 1348. By the end of 1348 Germany, France, England, Italy, and several other countries fall to the plague. 1350s: Plague dies down due to; Quarantine, where people stay in their houses and infected people are in some cases walled into their own homes, hygiene, where people started to wash their hands and boil water before drinking it, and clean air, where people left areas where the plague was present, or burned fires to “purify” the
