I have many thoughts regarding the sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is a sacrament that Catholics receive to continue in their religious upbringing and Christian Initiation. Confirmation completes Baptism by sealing the baptized person’s union with Christ and makes that person eligible for participation in the life of the Church. The gift of the Holy Spirit is sealed with the confirmands. This strengthens the confirmands bond with the Church and makes them feel like an adult. I want to go through this process to become an active member in the Church. I want to be Confirmed because it will give me a sense of adulthood in the Church that I have never really experienced before. I have always been known as a little boy, even though I am not so little. Now that I am older, I want the feeling of being an older member because it will give me confidence to grow in everyday life. Being an adult now comes with many responsibilities. I want to be able to make decisions for myself. Being Confirmed gives me that responsibility to make my own decisions. I want to be Confirmed, and that is my first adult choice.…show more content…
She was Confirmed when she was baptized, so she never got the opportunity to choose her own path through the Church. You do not have to be an adult to be Confirmed. Being Confirmed at the age of seventeen is good to me because it is not a decision that anyone can make for me. I have grown up going to Church every Sunday and participating in mass. I love to altar serve and help out whenever I can. I have been given the opportunity to choose for myself what I want to do in life. I feel as though getting ready for Confirmation has shown me that I do want to continue in the Catholic journey. I have so many good memories in our Church, and it has only just begun.
