What's the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the words 'Battalion S-3 Officer'? Wondering why any person would willingly complete training schedules monthly and faithfully or any written work in general. This is discipline and consistency, skills that Ivanna Eudora Kean Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Mighty Rays Battalion has taught their cadets. There are numerous jobs in JROTC all of which contains their respectable responsibilities, plenty to choose from the possibilities are endless and the question I ask myself is why do I want to uphold the position of Battalion S-3 Officer? I am Cadet Sargeant Richardson LET 3 applying for the position of Battalion S-3 Officer in my 11th year of high school at Ivanna Eudora Kean. To my knowledge the S3 officer "Serves as the principal staff officer for all matters concerning training, plans, and operations. People say that their determined to do this and that but never really follow through on it, well I'm different when I mind is made up there are no changes. For example; I am determined to uphold the position of Battalion S-3 Officer, achieve good grades, Improve on my track and field and in the early future get accepted into the college of my choice. Now this is something that will be followed through not because it's what is expected of me, no it's because I need it. I need to have all of these things in order for me to be successful person in life, "work hard for what you want" I say to myself.
